The Phytosanitary Department is one of six departments of the Faculty of Agronomy. It currently has eleven professors of permanent body, all in full-time, nine with PhD degree and one with master degree, as well as a recently retired professor who serves as Senior Guest.
Ten disciplines in the areas of apiculture, Management and Preservation of Grains, Entomology and Plant Pathology are offered at the undergraduate level.
Twenty disciplines, including targeted research, seminars and practices oriented of teaching are offered at the graduate level. The department has four servers in technical-administrative positions, with three laboratory technicians and one administrative assistant.
Dozens of students are linked to the Department, working in monitoring activities, scientific research and paid internships or volunteer in different projects, research, teaching and extension.
